Jolie petite histoire

Joan Mirò
~

Cynamon

beautiful christmas season.
sure thing.
lights everywhere and in the eyes of passers-by, as if anyone could really care.
so you're standing there, desperatly searching for the kid in you. until you realize you're the kid itself, and noone ever was innocent enough to really trust in santa claus.
hallelujah, people, hallelujah. dance under the streetlamps with plastic smiles as flakes come twirling for the heavens - do you mind? right now all I need is a bit of attention. Just like the rest of you, the rest of us, the rest of them.
Human minds like so many dust clouds over the night, lazy howl of highway ramps, fuel and pine in the chimney...
Be happy, it's christmas time. Be nice, it's christmas time. Be beautiful. Be you.

Music

"...Then read from the treasured volume
The poem of thy choice,
And lend to the rhyme of the poet
The beauty of thy voice.

And the night shall be filled with music..."

Lemon tree

Max Ernst

I'm sitting here in the boring room
It's just another rainy Sunday afternoon
I'm wasting my time
I got nothing to do
I'm hanging around
I'm waiting for you
But nothing ever happens and I wonder
I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon-tree

Fiction

I'd never really listened to that song's lyrics in their entirety...there goes.
~

Life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

Losing my Religion, REM
