Luulen tietäväni mitä metsä tämä on
mutta tyttö asuu kaukana
tyttö ei näe minua lopu tähän
katsomaan huoneeseeni tankata lunta
/.../
Tämä metsä on kaunis, tumma ja syvä
mutta minulla on sana suojellan
ja kauas mennä ennen nukun
ja kauas mennä ennen nukun

Now everything carefully blank

I know this place, but it doesn't know me
Its colors so familiar bloomed from buds I was once there to see
I know this place, but it is a strange place
Estranged to me, things only we could see
are gone

But then my place is other, too
just - near.

"
She kept her songs, they took so little space
The covers pleased her:
Once bleached from lying in a sunny place
One marked in circles by a vase of water,
One mended, when a tidy fit had seized her,
And coloured, by her daughter -
So they had waited, till, in widowhood
She dounf them, looking for something else, and stood

Relearning how each frank submissive chord
Had ushered in
Word after sprawling hyphenated word,
And the unfailing sense of being young
Spread our like a spring-woken tree, wherein
That hidden freshness sung.
That certainty of time laid up in store
As when she played them firts. But, even more,

The glare of that much-mentioned brilliance, love,
Broke out, to show
Its bright incipience sailing above,
Still promisiing to solve, and satisfy,
And set unchangeably in order. So
To pile them back, and cry,
Was hard, without lamely admitting how
It had not done so then, and could not now.

So many broken people.

Strain your sponge-heart out every night
still it fills up and trickles through the lips, the eyes

Asante sana - Tafadhali. Tafadhali. Tafadhali.

Do you believe in what you see

Sunday evening in the fast food hall
I was reading American Gods, loss, and smalltown cream-walled parlors
When they played Garden State on the radio.

Pictures always rise to easy
Outside nighttime was a perfect blue, the colors blending with streetsign hues
the summer we invented love

Back home my tea speaks of Alsace cardamon christmas fairs; my room says home, my hair long like summer. I lose my heart in books these days ; the skin under my nails smells of every place that's ever been.

In that time...

We were young gods and we were beautiful.
Such intensity. Intensity. Purity.

Thank you/ thank you/ here is so much left to learn.

In my stomach, in my hair Warmth and that smell stays, it fills you like drops of liquor on your hand and in the folds of your neck

I stare at trains and phone and hands
At my feet on the streets for hours (East) rubbing words out of the ground
Into my stomach, my hair

Is young and foolish.

How quickly you fall in, how quickly you fall out.

What if it was a good thing? With everytime the faith.
